The Centre for Clinical Research and Biostatistics (CCRB) has developed a computational model, beth-1, to predict genetic evolution in viruses and select representative strains for influenza vaccines. The model estimates virus changes and can potentially facilitate optimal vaccine strain selection, enhancing the protective effect of influenza vaccines.
